Borneo is one of the best places to see wild orangutan. Tanjung Puting became famous by the long-term research carried out by Dr Biruté Mary Galdikas at Camp Leakey, home to over 5,000 orangutans, proboscis monkeys, gibbons and over 200 species of birds. These locations are accesible from Pangkalan Bun, followed by boat trip to reach them. You will be traversing narrow jungle rivers with houseboat and venturing into the rainforest with our guide. Day 1 – From Pangkalan Bun airport, head to Kumai to check into the houseboat. Once we board, cruise to Seikonyer river. Observe the Orangutan, proboscis monkey, macaque, langur and various kinds of birds.

Day 2 – Go to Pasalat Camp to plant tree as a contribution for carbon offset program. Return to houseboat and cruise to Camp Leakey. Learn more about orangutan research activities there. Return to the houseboat for dinner and rest.

Day 3 – Cruise to Pondok Tangguy. Trek to the camp to see orangutan feeding session. Head to Tanjung Harapan village. Head to Nipa Palm area to enjoy the view of thousands fireflies. Have your delicious dinner on board and rest in the evening.

Day 4 – Head to Kumai for your departure at Pangkalan Bun Airport. This is the end of our journey. Warm farewell and see you on the next journey!
