Discover the beauty of Kalimantan river. You will be greeted at Balikpapan Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman airport. In this journey, you will be exploring the Mahakam river by houseboat trasversing Muntai estuary, crossing Jempang lake. We will visit Dayak Benuaq village where you will be welcomed with their traditional ceremony. From there, we will cruise to find the critically endangered dolphin or by local usually called “Pesut Mahakam”. Currently there are only 50 dolphins left in this river. In this 5 days and 4 nights journey, you will be resting at houseboat. Pack your bag and start this unique and amazing experience!

Day 1 – Upon arrival at Balikpapan Airpot, you will be transfered to Loa Janan to board the houseboat. Meals will be provided on board.

Day 2 – Begin at sightseeing Muara Muntai Wooden Village, then we will cross the Jempang Lake by motor canoe to Mancong. Upon arrival, the Dayak Benuaq people will welcome you with a traditional ceremony. We will continue sightseeing across Tanjung Isuy then spend a night on houseboat while we cruise up to Muara Pahu.

Day 3 – Arrive at Muara Pahu, cruise up to Bolowan river by canoe. Along the river, we can see exotic Kutai culture. You can also see the Proboscis Monkeys Island. Then, we will go to the black water swamp forest land near Semayang Lake. Here, you can see the Dolphins swim around the Bolowan river. We will continue to go to Melak.

Day 4 – At Melak we will drive to Eheng by Jeep/Minibus passing by the beautiful highland to reach the old Longhouse of Dayak Tunjung. Then, we will visit Kersik Luway and explore the forest. Then, we will go to Ombau Asa Waterfall, a breathtaking place to swim and sightseeing. After, we will go back to the houseboat and sail to Tenggarong.

Day 5– At Tenggarong, then we will visit the former palace of Sultan Kutai Kartanegara. Then, we will drive back to Balikpapan Airport for your next destination. See you again!
